Why We Chose The Haglöfs L.I.M Mountain Proof Anorak: Lightweight, durable design and build, sustainable construction.
Haglöfs are one of those brands with an extremely strong reputation in outdoor gear design behind them. This dates back all the way to 1914 when Swedish carpenter Wiktor Haglöf set out with the vision of creating clothing and backpacks for people who had to endure the naturally wild and remote Scandinavian landscape.
The L.I.M (Less is More) range from Haglöfs continues that tradition of high quality while bringing in some useful modern innovation. We’ve previously seen the L.I.M Proof, a 2.5L jacket, now we have the Mountain Proof which boasts 3L protection.
This is a jacket that has only simple features for light and fast adventures such as climbing and mountaineering. Simple, but in the right kind of way, because for these types of high intensity adventures, you don’t want faff, you want stuff you can count on.
“Haglöfs’ own Proof Eco fabric is able to brag a 100% recycled polyamide construction that is all bluesign approved and stripped from the use of any nasty PFCs.”
There’s a Napoleon style single chest pocket that’ll swallow up a map and phone together, Velcro sleeves, an adjustable hem and adjustable peaked hood as well – nothing more, nothing less.
But it’s in the fabric that all the innovation has been shown off. Despite it’s impressively low weight the L.I.M is surprisingly built to last. It’s able to boast a three-layer Proof Eco waterproof system, making it that bit more durable than the typical 2.5 layer trend that’s become the norm with lightweight, sub 300g jackets.
