Outdoor brand Fjällräven and cycling brand Specialized have revealed that they will both be uniting to create a new cycling gear collection designed to help facilitate local outdoor adventures.
We’ve been told to expect innovative on-bike storage solutions, technical apparel and accessories, with the full range set to be unveiled on 15th March.
‘The Great Nearby’ range and wider initiative from the two brands is said to be driven by the stark fact that by 2050, two-thirds of the planet’s population will supposedly be living in towns and cities. As such, this collab is all about helping people to be creative when seeking out outdoor experiences, whether that’s ‘at the end of a train ride, on the edge of town, or even just around the corner’.
Apparel-wise, they’re set to release everything from thermoshorts, flannel shirts and t-shirts, to anoraks, outdoor trousers, socks and even a dress and a suit. These will all be purpose-built for the outdoors, sustainably made and suited to a multitude of adventures, from cycling and hiking to quick jaunts into town.
In addition to this, there’ll be a handlebar frame and a collection of bags, carrier packs and a backpack. The two brands will split their product releases into two categories: there’ll be a selection of products curated for adventures closer to home, and then an additional product drop later this year for wilder, multi-day adventures. Think bikepacking trips and multi-day cycling adventures.
