The Vaude Terra Hogan 2P Tent is the perfect example of a well-built, fit-for-purpose two-person tent, and while it might look complicated it’s really not at all. In fact it’s extremely simple to put up and take down.
It’s actually an addition to Vaude’s popular Hogan family, and there are plenty of similarities between this and the other models in the collection, most notably with that sturdy drawn forward dome design. The big difference, however, is that the pole system now goes on the outside as an exoskeleton, so instead of having to pitch the inner mesh first (as was the case with previous Hogans) you can now pitch the flysheet and inner all as one. This is something that can be so useful when you’re setting up in the rain and don’t want to leave any non-waterproof materials exposed.

To erect it you only have to anchor the pole ends and wrap the elastic cord over the poles before securing it with the little hooks and then hey, presto, you’re done. This is handy at the best of times, but again, it’s especially useful when it’s pouring with rain and you’re yet to pitch, and stuck in open terrain. It really takes no time at all.
Worth mentioning is its durable ripstop flysheet fabric (75D) which has a polyurethane coating for waterproof protection, and also the mini poles which are embedded at the back end of the tent. These poles make the inner walls almost vertical, therefore meaning you won’t get any mesh sagging down onto the bottom of your sleeping bag.
