Merrell announces new Capra sports shoe for spring 2015
Outdoor footwear specialist Merrell has announced its new Capra sports shoe is to be released in spring 2015.
The new sports shoe combines a blend of durability, stability and protection in a lightweight package designed for scrambling, hiking and running over uneven terrain and technical trails.
The shoe is named after the mountain goat – a master of living on a mountain’s edge while keeping stability, balance and traction to stay up.
Added durability and good fit
Flexible and secure, the lace-to-toe design of the Capra is combined with a synthetic leather and mesh exoskeleton, that’s injected into the footage via Stratafuse technology, for added durability and a glove-like fit.
A Gore-Tex waterproof membrane is also available for top waterproof protection and enhanced breathability.
Less stress to body during each stride
Designed to hug the three main arches of the foot a UniFly sole system, developed in conjunction with the Rebound Therapy Lab then acts to reduce stress to the body during the stride.
Deep and protective cushioning in the heel gradually tapered to simultaneously offer a fluid and responsive connection to the ground in forefoot. Stabilising the foot for a solid take off and landing whilst increasing power and effectiveness.
Extra traction
This versatile shoe is also said to have a Vibram MegaGrip outsole offering extra traction and 30% more adherence to smooth rock surfaces, a bellows tongue keeps debris from the trail firmly out and an M-Select Fresh shoe lining to eliminate sweat and its odour-causing bacteria.
The shoes also come in three colour combinations depending on your preference: Lime Green / Black for men & Royal Lilac for women.
