Leatherman ARC | First Look

A quick look at the latest unveiling by the Portland-based brand

Leatherman has announced the launch of a premium multi-tool which will sit at the very top of its range.

Called the ARC, the £260.95 product includes 20 tools and is the first Leatherman to use a MagnaCut steel blade.

MagnaCut, which was developed by an American company called Crucible Industries, is a stainless steel that’s highly regarded for its toughness, edge retention and resistance to corrosion. The blade also has a diamond-like carbon (DLC) carbon coating which adds another layer of corrosion resistance.

Just like the Leatherman Free P4 which we reviewed on this site a few years ago, the ARC, which is said to have taken five years to develop, is designed for one-handed use. Leatherman say that each feature will open smoothly and easily.

The tools include a 2.76-inch blade, needlenose pliers, regular pliers, spring-action scissors, a saw, can and bottle openers, large and small bit drivers, a screw driver, wood and metal file and more.

It also comes with a removable pocket clip, four-pocket nylon sheath, and eight double-ended bits.

You’ll find it retailing at whitbyandco.co.uk and at selected specialist retailers.
