HIGHLANDER, the global adventure series, launched a campaign today (it’s Earth Day, by the way) directed at the rise in pointless and absurd commercial space flights. Why sink endless resources into a tiny glimpse of space flight? Asks HIGHLANDER, who quite rightly point out that, compared to the out-of-this-world beauty of our own planet, space isn’t really all that interesting.
HIGHLANDER organise long-distance hiking events all across the world with the aim of introducing participants to the un-paralleled beauty of untouched nature. Their new campaign, they said, has been launched to renew and bolster our collective understanding that, quite simply, the planet is important and we need to respect it. So, very much on brand, they’re launching the HIGHLANDER MARS ON EARTH X CROATIA crowdfunding campaign.
Taking place on April 21-23, 2023 on the island of Pag, Croatia (where their promotional video was filmed) those who’ve signed up to take part will trek short routes and attend various educational lectures about environmental protection, mindfulness, and self-care in one of the most ”Mars looking locations” on Earth.
HIGHLANDER say that 50% of funds from all registrations for this event will go to local initiatives for cleaning the Adriatic Sea and coast. Those who cannot take part can also offer their support by donating to the new crowdfunding campaign.
