Eagle Creek Pack-It Isolate Cube Set | Review

A packable travel kit for the organised adventurer; the Isolate Cube set is equipped with everything you’ll need to keep your kit dry, lightweight, and odour-free

Why We Chose The Eagle Creek Pack-It Isolate Cube Set: Ultra-lightweight, antimicrobial, and super packable

‘An organised traveller is a happy traveller’ say Eagle Creek. And these unique travelling organisers should more than do the trick. They are made for lightweight and convenient adventuring, as well as more general on-the-go travelling.

Whether you’re an organiser or you’re in need of organisation, having a pack-it sacks will make your life much easier. They help you find your kit items easily, whilst also compressing them to make them sit comfier in your backpack.

Additionally, if your adventure is an active one, organisation packs like the Isolate Cube set will prevent cross-contamination between your sweaty kit, and your fresh kit. In this sense, they help protect your kit from both the inside contaminants of your bag, and the external factors of the outside world.

Who Is The Isolate Cube Set For?

The Isolate Cube set is also aimed towards active travellers and includes a PROTX2® anti-microbial agent coating accordingly. This treatment will deter the growth of bacteria and microbes from any sweaty or dirty clothes in your bag, whilst also minimising the effects of nasty smells. Gone are the days of DIY dry bags made from Tesco’s plastic carriers and emergency gaffer tape.

All of Eagle Creek’s products have a ‘No Matter What™’ warranty, covering both their Lifetime Warranty promises plus the added insurance of repair or replacement due to product failure.

Design

The Isolate collection comes in three sizes: XS with a 2L capacity, S with a 7L capacity, and M with a 13L capacity. The smaller sizes are recommended for socks, accessories, t-shirts, and underwear, while the bigger sizes are great for leggings, jeans and bulkier items. The measures are as follows: 11x19x6 cm (XS), 18×25.5x8cm (S), 25.5x36x8cm (M).

With weights ranging from 18g to 36g (XS-M), these cubes are an ultra-lightweight addition to your kit. They also come in a variety of distinguishable colours including Aloha, Black, Aizome Blue Grey, Mossy Green, Sahara Yellow, and Ocean Currents.

The packs are both washable and water-resistant, and have a semi-translucent design allowing to find your kit easily while still providing privacy. The uniquely angled zipper design is similarly handy, accommodating any packing style from rolling, to folding, to the all-familiar stuff-it-all-in-at-once method.

All of Eagle Creek’s products have a solvent-free coating, involve no plastics in the packaging (70% or more of their packaging is made from post-consumer waste), and are PVC-free. Their solvent-free coating additionally provides UV protection, a resistance to stains and abrasion, and moisture repellency.

Materials

The fabric used on the Isolate cubes is an antimicrobial 50-denier diamond ripstop with polyester. The diamond ripstop pattern has an incredibly tight weave, adding to the cubes’ strength and durability, whilst still having the lightness of a poly blend.

The zippers, on the other hand, are self-healing Zoom zippers, meaning they can easily be re-attached should they come off. The design of Zoom zippers also allows more flexibility in terms of design features, hence why all the Isolate zips are fitted with unique paracord pulls. These are climbing rope inspired and give the cubes a cool look whilst enabling you to maintain a solid grip.

Tester’s Verdict

Ash Routen

“Eagle Creek Pack-It Isolate Cubes Eagle Creek pitch their Isolate packing cubes at the ‘active and on-the-go traveller’, so I gave them a run out on a busy and boiling bank holiday weekend sightseeing in London.

“As someone who likes to pack neat and have my gear readily accessible, I found these Pack-It cubes really helpful. Two for my clothes and another for electronics. The medium cube is easily big enough to fit a pair of jeans, a sweater and a few shirts in, and the cubes are quite robust so you can really fill them to the brim without worrying.

“Although these are a simple product, they are well made and designed. The stitching work is very good (I machine sew my own stuff sacks), the full-length angled zipper means you can access the contents quickly, and the grab handle allows you to pull the cube out of your pack with little hassle.

“I actually can’t think of anything that really needs improving. I’ll definitely be taking these on my next travels, and nights out on the hill wild camping.”
