“Neither of them could ever have imagined that in two years time the Taliban would be hunting them down
As is normally the case, it was an idea that came about during a boozy evening. Two students suddenly decided to embark upon an adventure together. To walk from Cardiff, Wales, all the way to it’s namesake town in New South Wales Australia.
On that night in Wales when their Borderwalk pact was made, neither of them could ever have imagined that in two years’ time the Taliban would be hunting them down.
In this episode of Will’s World, Arjun shares the incredible journey with us, detailing the emotions of carrying on alone after his friend Kieran dropped out, the nights waking up to gunpoint, dysentery and that final moment stepping into a town that he’d devoted five years of his life to reaching – one that really, he didn’t have that much of an interest in.
