UK-based brand Nikwax have been looking after and innovating the outdoor industry since way back in 1977 when Nick Brown, a keen outdoor walker, was unhappy with boot-proofing waxes that ruined the leather on his walking boots. Specifically, they achieved a Level 4 “Aspirational” rating in their latest bluesign® Company Assessment – the top level available. The assessment, carried out by bluesign technologies, looked at Nikwax’s manufacturing processes, environmental impact, chemical management and overall approach to responsible production.

You see, Nikwax aren’t solely concentrated on cleaning your outdoor gear properly, they’ve also always been dedicated towards doing it in the most sustainable and environmentally friendly way. The company says its approach is based around helping people get more life out of their outdoor kit, reducing the need to replace clothing and equipment prematurely.
