Based on the brand’s popular retro designs, Robens have just released a new tipi tent range called the ‘Navigator’. The range includes three tipi bell tent designs all built with Roben’s trademarked HydroTex HD RS polyester ripstop fabric. This fabric is built to be tough, withstanding average wind speeds from 130 km/h to 195 km/h depending on which tent you go for.

This unique polyester is also designed to reduce the average pack size for tents this size, whilst also reducing the weight for easier transportation when you’re out and about in the wilderness. Though they’d probably best be used at a base camp, this lighter weight allows a wider range of use than usual for a tipi style.
The new tents include:
Green Cone PRS
Price: £369.99
The polyester Green Cone PRS tipi has a lot of headroom, a large porch and an inner that sleeps four. It features an offset centre pole that lifts the outer from the ground to create a gap to aid air flow. To save weight, you can also remove the inner and adjust the telescopic centre pole so the outer sits close to the ground.
Klondike PRS
Price: £669.99
Sleeping up to six people, this is a polyester spin on Robens’ ever-popular Klondike tent. The vertical door makes for easy access, whilst the groundsheet zips to the centre alloy pole allowing it to be rolled away at the door to create a handy vestibule area.
Chinook Ursa PRS
Price: £779.99
This sleeps eight and is based on the cotton Chinook Ursa that won the Camping Magazine Editor’s Choice Awards 2020 for best glamping tent. The PRS version combines similar features with modern quality polyester materials to offer a large living space that can be opened right up for sheltered views of nature.
Cool retro styling aside, two of our favourite features from the Navigator range are the unique groundsheet and the versatile porch options. Aimed at highlighting our shared passions for the great outdoors, the groundsheets are all fitted with a star print that maps constellations you might see on a clear night when out camping.
