To fill you in on the pack that could be yours in less than a fortnight’s time, it’s called the Lowe Alpine Altus ND30 and it’s a women’s specific pack designed for year-round use, whether that’s big days out in Scottish winter conditions, springtime scrambling in Snowdonia or even weekend wild camps in the South Downs.
When we tested it last year, we actually liked it enough to not only include it in our round up of the season’s best backpacks but to give it the distinction of being listed in our Outdoor 100 of 2019.
Features that impressed us include the adjustable back system with its breathable mesh and carefully placed padding, the multiple adjustment and compression points, options for securing tools like your trekking poles or ice axe and we liked the floating lid. Durability was excellent as well – it’s a lightweight but still hardy design.
