There’s nothing worse than an ill-fitting pack. One that shakes up and down as you walk (never mind run), which grates at your shoulders and lower back, which heats you up like you’re moving through a desert and which doesn’t actually offer much protection for the things you have managed to fit in.
Good news is that you won’t have to worry about any of those problems with this, the Vaude Trail Space 8. It’s essentially a compact daypack for challenging hikes, runs or adventures on two wheels.
It’s exceptionally form-fitting and stable, has good ventilation, comfortable load distribution and on top of all that, it’s produced in an environmentally-friendly way.
“A lightweight, comfortable bag that’s big enough for the essentials”
The fit is almost like a half-backpack half-vest, not hanging off your shoulders but wrapping itself right around your back, front and sides, and this makes it incredibly stable, even with a heavy load.
When you’re on-the-go and find the pack bouncing around a little, all you need to do is give one tug on the cord that’s placed on your shoulder and it’ll cinch everything in nice and tight. There are also the two adjustable clips on the front that you can slide up and down easily to get the right fit for the load you are carrying.
Onto ventilation. To help with this, Vaude have chosen a 3D knit for the back and harness which lets air circulate through wide gaps. Then there’s the foam padding which has long air channels in it including one across the length of your spine. This we should mention, is also there to make the pack sit comfortably when you’re slightly bent over when riding a bike.
