The Danner brand was born in 1932 when Charles Danner started his own business making durable and affordable boots in the then-logging town of Chippewa Falls in Wisconsin. Not long after, he moved to Portland, Oregon and the brand has remained there ever since.
This year marks 90 years of trading for Danner and to celebrate this milestone they’ve released a bunch of new additions to their Portland Select Collection. Each one is made at the Danner HQ in Portland using high quality materials – and they’re all recraftable too.
Here are some of the highlights…
The Mountain Trail
This is a limited-edition anniversary version of the brand’s long-standing Mountain Trail walking boots. Made in the USA, this updated classic is crafted with chocolate Horween Chromexcel leather and durable Vibram outsoles. You’ll find this retailing at £420.
The Danner Ridge Explorer
Combining the classic Danner style and modern comforts, the Ridge Explorer features premium full-grain and suede leather, a Gore-tex lining and a Vibram outsole. The brand calls this the ‘perfect trail-to-town’ companion. This retails at £420.
The Westslope Brown Wedge
And then we have the Westslope. Named for the Westslope Cutthroat — a western native trout — this boot brings the look of Danner’s River Gripper fly-fishing boot to city streets. It features nylon and full-grain leather uppers with perforations for breathability, Gore-tex liners and Danner wedge outsoles. You’ll find this in both men’s and women’s styles, retailing at £430.
