Ill-prepared Walker Rescued 400m From Cairngrom Car Park
In BBC reports a Mountain Rescue Leader has criticised an ill-prepared walker after rescuing them just a few hundred metres from a car park near Cairngorm.
The 38-year-old hillwalker from Brighton was well equipped when descending the Scottish munro but was missing one vital bit of kit, a head torch.
The man leading the rescue, Cairngorm MRT leader Willie Anderson, said: ‘His decision to phone 999 was an abuse of an emergency service.
‘He was well equipped but missing a key piece of equipment at a time close to the shortest day – a head torch.’
