In 2021, Outdoors Magic’s editor Will Renwick started running from Swansea Observatory. On his back he had a small bag loaded with a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat and very little else. Over the next three weeks, he would be attempting to climb all of Wales’ mountains – that’s the 189 that are over 2000 feet. His intention was to see more of his home country, to have a grand adventure, and to raise funds to support mental health charity, Mind Over Mountains. Of course it was going to be hard, he was well aware of that. But still, he was unprepared for just how monumentally brutal it would be.
