It’s been a while since we managed to get the chance to have a chat with mountaineer and Fjӓllrӓven ambassador Alan Hinkes, the Yorkshireman who holds the accolade of being the first and only Briton to have climbed all 14 of the world’s mountains over 8000 metres. Normally out bagging the Lake District’s Wainwrights, the current lockdown across the UK has fortunately made it just that bit easier for us to pin him down.
So, we’ve got our Zoom primed and ready to stream to you across our social channels at 12:00 this Saturday where he’ll be sharing some tales of his tales and expertise in a live broadcast. And this time, we want to leave the questions to you.
Is there anything you’d love to ask him? Maybe you’re keen to hear how to organise high alpine expeditions yourself. Perhaps you’re interested in his tricky ascent of K2 (second on the highest mountains in the world list) or maybe you’d like him to delve into some of his tales from closer to home – like the time he got avalanched in the Lake District. Whatever it is, just send it in an email to [email protected] along with your name and location and we’ll put it to him!
The chat will be happening live on our Facebook and Youtube channels at 12:00 on Saturday 25th April, so you’ve got plenty time to get them over to us. Catch you there.
