Spring has arrived and all the top names in the outdoor industry are – unavoidable pun incoming – gearing up for this year’s sunny months. Haglöfs are no exception; they’re entering the next Spring/Summer season with cutting edge updates to their core ultra-lightweight collection: the L.I.M Series. This collection takes its name from the founding mantra of lightweight, minimalist gear: less is more, and with this mantra on their minds, Haglöfs have come up with some redesigns to strip their core gear as far back as it can go.
“We are constantly trying to push the boundaries of lightweight trekking”
“In order to keep the products light and fast, minimalistic functionalism is necessary,” said Annsofie Jakobsson, Head of Design at Haglöfs. “This means that we only apply what is really necessary for the activity. All features exist for a reason, and are placed as they are for a reason.”
It seems that the design team at Haglöfs are sticking to their word, the 2022 L.I.M GTX Jacket and the updated L.I.M Mimic Hood feature sleek tweaks, minimalist features, and absolutely no unnecessary bulk. This kit also manages to stay light and breathable without compromising on durability or insulation.
Not to leave out comfort – the renovated GTX Jacket is comfortable enough to slip on over bare skin thanks to its abrasion resistant inner surface. You can stay virtually weightless for challenging runs or high-pulse adventures under a single layer of the improved GORE-TEX Paclite Plus 2.5. The new carbon reinforcement print replaces the need for a backer and sends the weight down to just 91 g/m2.
Meanwhile, the L.I.M Mimic Hood looks a very decent offering. Haglöfs’ renowned Mimic material has arrived at last on the ultra-light scene, providing a huge amount of protection on this cozy featherweight hooded jacket. The insulation is part recycled polyester and part Mimic PLATINUM Ultracluster Graphine, giving the whole piece a down-like feel while keeping it breathable and lofty. Perfect for climbs that might get chilly, strenuous hill hikes, or even ski & snowboarding. The Mimic Hood is also highly compressible, easy to roll up throw in your pack without adding extra heft.
We’ve only scratched the surface of Haglöfs’ L.I.M range.
