This year Fjӓllrӓven is celebrating 50 years since its iconic Greenland Jacket was introduced with the launch of its new Greenland Updated collection. As part of this, we’ve teamed up with the Scandinavian brand to give Outdoors Magic readers the opportunity to win one of our biggest gear bundles yet, worth more than £500.

All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning is answer the simple question at the bottom of the page. Here’s what’s up for grabs…

A real classic, the original was created following a Scandinavian expedition to Greenland in 1966. During the trip, the team of scientists found that their jackets and trousers were all too heavy and slow-drying to stand up to the Arctic conditions. Fjällräven founder Åke Nordin, knew he could create a solution and set to work.

Two years later, the Greenland Jacket was born.

Fjallraven Greenland Jacket

The Greenland Jacket, available in men's and women's versions and in a number of colours.

This year's 50th anniversary update is made from Fjällräven's own durable wind and water-resistant G-1000 Eco fabric, and is impregnated with Greenland Wax for extra weather protection.

The everyday comfort of jeans, but with the functionality of a pair of hiking trousers. Fjällräven’s G-1000 Eco is in play again here, so you already know they’re going to be durable as well as wind and water resistant.

A tribute to that brand-defining expedition to Greenland back in the 1960s, this comfortable t-shirt is made from 100% organic cotton and is available in men’s and women’s versions.

The new Greenland Top Rucksack is made from robust G-1000 HeavyDuty Eco, a thicker version of the wind and water repellent G-1000 fabric that is widely used across the Greenland Updated collection. Equally at home on a woodland walk as the daily commute, the heritage-style pack has a spacious compartment, laptop sleeve and padded shoulder straps for comfort.

Greenland Wax is the best way of maintaining and enhancing the wind and water resistance of any Fjällräven items made from G-1000 fabric. Its formula has remained unchanged since the first batch used by the brand's founder, Åke Nordin, all of those years ago. Made from a mixture of paraffin and beeswax, the wax increases a garment's durability and weather protection without causing harm to the environment.

The question is: How many years ago was the first Greenland Jacket released?
